New Debit Card Fraud Prevention Service
In our continuing efforts to keep your accounts secure, we’ve improved our alert system for potential fraud. Here’s how it works:
- When potential fraud is detected, you will receive an automatic email notification, with the option to reply with “fraud” or “no fraud.”
- One minute after the email, you will receive a text alert, which also has the “fraud” or “no fraud” option.
- If there is no response received from either the email or text, you will then receive automatic phone calls to confirm or deny fraud. The call will also give the option of speaking to a fraud analyst.
Remember – our messages will never ask for your PIN or account number.
We've taken proactive steps to protect your checking account even more.
IMPORTANT CHANGE — Heritage has implemented a safe and temporary way to use your Heritage debit card which may require you to use a PIN, instead of a signature, at some establishments and merchants.
We're here to protect your money. With an escalation in debit card fraud nationwide, it's never been more important for Heritage to increase security on your accounts.
Pen, then PIN!
If a debit card transaction does not go through using the "Credit" (signature) option, simply retry the transaction with the "Debit" (PIN) option.
