Is there a monthly service charge for Go Go Green Checking?
There is never a monthly service charge for Go Go Green Checking. It's always a free account.
What are the rewards for having Go Go Green Checking?
You'll earn 3.25%APY* dividends for balances up to $25,000 and 0.25%APY* on the remaining balance over $25,000.
What's a cycle?
A cycle is one calendar month. A cycle is from the first calendar day of the month to the last calendar day of the current month. Qualifying transactions must post to the account before the end of the month. Debit card transactions need to clear during the cycle period. Pending transactions will count toward the next cycle.

What are the 3 simple requirements to qualify for Go Go Green?
During each cycle, we ask that you:
- Receive e-statements (e-mail address required)
- Have one (1) direct deposit
- Post ten (10) debit card transactions
Why does Go Go Green checking have requirements?
We ask that you do a few simple things to help us operate more efficiently. We then pass those savings on to you by paying premium dividend rates.
What happens if I'm not able to meet the 3 simple requirements?
You'll still earn dividends of 0.25%APY* on your checking balance. However, you can start over the next month toward meeting the 3 simple requirements.
I don't have an e-mail address for e-statements. How can I get one?
If you don't have an e-mail address, listed below are three of the more popular FREE e-mail services that you can access from any computer with Internet.

What do I do if my e-mail changes?
If your e-mail changes, it's important to update it in online banking. Log-in to your online banking account, click on the e-statements main menu, and then Change Registration Information. If we don't have a valid e-mail address for you, we are unable to e-mail you your monthly qualification notice.
Can the dividend rate on my Go Go Green checking change?
Yes, this is a variable rate and can change at any time. It will always be a very competitive and attractive rate.
Is this just a teaser rate?
No, all members with this account who meet the 3 requirements receive the same dividend rate. You will always receive an above-market rate on the Go Go Green account.
How are the dividends calculated?
The rate is calculated daily and paid monthly on the last calendar day of the month.
If I meet the 3 simple requirements, when will I receive my dividends?
An e-mail will be sent each cycle letting you know if you qualified for the rewards. If you didn't qualify, it will let you know why and what you'll need to do to qualify the next month. Your dividends earned will show up in Online Banking and on your monthly e-statement.
Will I receive a 1099 at the end of the year reflecting dividends earned on my Go Go Green checking?
If the total dividends earned on the account is $10.00 or greater, a 1099 will be sent.
If my account balance goes negative, will I still be able to qualify for dividends during that statement cycle?
As long as the 3 requirements are met, you will receive your dividends.
If I don't meet the 3 requirements during a cycle, can I still have a chance to qualify during the next cycle?
Yes, all 3 requirements start over at the beginning of each cycle.
Direct Deposit
Is Direct Deposit required?
Yes, your deposit must be sent through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) and must meet minimum deposit standards.
Will a Direct Deposit to my savings account or other HCU checking account also meet the requirement?
No, the Direct Deposit must be linked to your Go Go Green checking account.
Free ATM
Are all ATMs really FREE?
HCU will not charge any ATM fees for our ATMs or foreign ATMs. However, to avoid possible surcharge fees at a foreign ATM, use an ATM that is part of the Alliance network.
Debit Card Transactions
How will I know how many debit card transactions have posted to my account each cycle?
You'll receive a monthly e-mail summary that provides you a recap for the cycle and lets you know if you met the 3 simple requirements. It will tell you how many debit card transactions posted to your account for the cycle. You can also view your account history by clicking on Go Go Green Checking through Online Banking.
What does NOT qualify as a debit card transaction?
Any ATM transaction does not qualify.
If I use my debit card at an ATM, will that transaction count toward my 3 simple requirements?
No, the required debit card transactions must be purchases, either by using your PIN or by signing for the purchase.
Can I carry over debit card purchases in excess of the required number to the next cycle?
No, at the start of each cycle, all the requirements for dividends start over.
What if my new debit card doesn't arrive until late in the cycle and I don't have time to meet the 3 requirements? Will I still get dividends?
New Go Go Green checking accounts will automatically get dividends for the first cycle. This will give you time to get your debit card and set up direct deposit. Checking accounts with HCU that are transferred to Go Go Green do not receive a grace period.
E-Statements
Do I have to access my E-Statement online in order to qualify for dividends?
You're not required to access your E-statements. You'll no longer receive paper statements so if you want to look at your account history, you can do this through Online Banking or E-statements. Please note: it is your responsibility to review your statement and report any errors within 30 days. If you fail to do so, you may lose important rights regarding error resolution.
How do I get copies of my checks?
Through Online Banking, you can view and print electronic images of your checks at no charge.
What if I need a printed copy of my statement?
Within Online Banking, there is a printable version of your E-statement.
How long will my E-statements be available online?
We archive E-statements for 13 months, moving forward.
Deposit Account Limits
Is there a limit on the amount of money I can keep in my Go Go Green account?
No, you can keep as much as you want in the account. You'll earn 3.25%APY* dividends for balances up to $25,000 and 0.25%APY* on the remaining balance over $25,000 if the 3 requirements for the account are met. If you are not able to meet the requirements, you'll still earn dividends of 0.25%APY* on your checking account balance.
Do I have to keep a minimum balance in my Go Go Green checking account to receive dividends?
There is no minimum balance requirement.
Opening/Converting Accounts
Is overdraft protection available for Go Go Green checking accounts?
Yes, overdraft protection is available to qualified members.
Will I be able to use my debit card and checks from my old Heritage Credit Union checking account with my Go Go Green checking account?
Yes, you'll be able to use both your current debit card and checks with your new Go Go Green checking account.
If I switch my current HCU checking account to a Go Go Green checking account, will my account number stay the same?
Yes, you'll have the same account number. There is no need to change anything!
How can I change my current checking account to a Go Go Green checking account?
You can call or stop by any branch and a HCU representative will be happy to help you. If your current checking account is NOT with HCU, we have made a Switch Kit available for you to download to help you change over your account.
Will the transactions from a cycle on my old HCU checking account count toward the required transactions for a cycle on my new Go Go Green checking?
Yes, the transactions and direct deposits from your old checking account transfer over to your new Go Go Green checking for the first cycle you join Go Go Green.
Miscellaneous
Can I open multiple Go Go Green checking accounts for the same address?
You can open multiple Go Go Green checking accounts, but each must meet the 3 simple requirements in order to receive dividends.
Can a business open a Go Go Green account?
No, Go Go Green checking accounts are only available as personal accounts.
Is there a limit on the number of transactions I can do on a Go Go Green checking account?
There is no limit on the number or kind of transactions that you do.
